Latest Event Round-up

Here’s an event round-up to let you know what the Redline Home Guard have been up to.

July has proved to be a busy month so far for the Redline Home Guard. Along with the Henley Traditional Boat Festival and the work renovating the Cholsey Ticket Office, the group have also been out and about at Woodcote Steam Rally (13th-14th July) and helping our good friends Karen and Bret again with their talk on the Upper Thames Patrol, for the River Thames Society, Sandford-on-Thames Village Hall (17th July).

Woodcote Rally

Woodcote Rally was a fun event and one we’d love to attend next year with a larger display rather than a roving patrol like this year and we thank the organisers for inviting us along. Next year’s event will be held on the 12th-13th July 2025. Visit: https://www.woodcoterally.org.uk

UTP Talk

The UTP talk allowed the group to undertake a quick clearance of the vicinity before the guests arrived and then they were on hand to help welcome the visitors and answer any questions they had about the role and equipment of the Home Guard and the relevance of Stop Line Red.

The talk gave a short potted history of the UTP with personal recollections and amusing stories and included approximately 180 original photos and 2 short films, all very rare and not generally seen.

Many thanks to Karen and Bret for inviting us again, and to see other talks by them please visit https://doingtheirbit.co.uk/talks-for-adults

We’ll have further event round-ups coming soon! If you have an event and would like the Redline Home Guard to attend, do contact us.
