On Sunday, November 10th, the Redline Home Guard proudly took part in the Remembrance Sunday Parade at St Mary Magdalene in Crowmarsh, paying tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of their country.
The day began with a solemn moment of reflection as we paraded to the grave of Tom Jewitt, a local volunteer who tragically lost his life while on duty in 1940 (see his story here). Observing a minutes silence, we honoured his memory and the legacy of all who served on the home front.
Following this, we joined the wider community at Crowmarsh for the Remembrance Sunday Parade and service. Pte Gleave formed a Guard of Honour at the war memorial as members of the community laid wreaths. The event was a poignant reminder of the unity and resilience that defines us, as we came together to remember and honour those who served and sacrificed during times of conflict.
It was an honour to be part of such a meaningful occasion, ensuring the stories of the past continue to be remembered by future generations.
Lest we forget.
