The Redline Home Guard recently gathered at the Wantage Target Shooting Club for their yearly rifle shooting qualification.
The day began with a look at the newly acquired Boys Anti-tank Rifle before the necessary paperwork, safety instructions and briefing were conducted.

Using the 20-yard range and firing air rifles, members spent the morning honing their skills with several practice shoots under the expert guidance of Range Conducting Officer, 2/Lt P. Chambers. After a productive session, everyone enjoyed a well-earned lunch accompanied by a pot of tea, fueling up for the afternoon’s main event.

After lunch, the qualification shoots began, with each member demonstrating impressive skill and discipline. All participants successfully achieved the required grade to pass qualification, reflecting their dedication and commitment to marksmanship.

Private M. Gleave continued his beginners luck, securing the trophy for the highest qualification score for the second consecutive year. In a proud moment, the cup was presented by 2/Lt P. Chambers.

The location of this event held special historical significance, as the Wantage Target Shooting Club is situated next door to the site of the old Wantage Home Guard drill hall. This connection to the past served as a poignant reminder of the legacy and tradition carried on by the Redline Home Guard.
The day was filled with the usual Redline camaraderie, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to excellence. Congratulations to all our members for their hard work and achievements. We look forward to another year of growth and success!

Well done, Redline Home Guard!
